Installation Method

Raise the hood of the vehicle and remove the air cleaner using a ¼-inch drive, 10 mm socket and ratchet. Disconnect the electrical connector from the side of the throttle position sensor on the passenger side. Remove the two bolts securing the sensor to the throttle body. Lift the sensor off and away from the throttle body.

Install the new throttle position sensor by securing the two bolts. Before tightening the bolts, make sure that the sensor is installed correctly by opening the throttle and feeling for resistance caused by the spring in the sensor. If there is no resistance, take the sensor off and reinstall it. Plug the electrical connector into the sensor, and install the air cleaner.

The procedure for 1998 Nissan Frontier throttle position sensor installation is pretty easy and can be executed on your own to save few dollars spent on the technicians.

Procedure to Change the Fog Light

The negative battery cable in the vehicle is disconnected. The nuts that are associated to the negative cable clamp are loosened and slide the negative battery terminal of the vehicle. The two nuts that are holding the fog lights are removed from the assembly. You can locate these nuts beneath the fog light assembly.

Now, slide the fog light housing in the forward direction and disconnect the electrical connector from the assembly; this can be done from beneath the fog light ballast.

Slide the assembly of fog light all the way out and make sure that you replace it with a new assembly if required; else, simply push the fog light in on position and turn the fog light counter clockwise to get unlocked from the assembly housing.

The new fog light is thus installed, and the installation procedure is quite reverse of removal procedure.

Recall I

On 20th May 2010, Nissan has recalled some rear and front lower links, p/nos. 54501ZQ00A, 551A1ZQ00A, 54500ZQ00A, 54501EA00A, 551A0ZQ00A, 551A1EA500, 54500EA00A, 54501ZR00A, 551A0EA500, and 54500ZR00A. These vehicles were traded between 25th November 2009 and 14th May 2010 as substitute parts for model year 2004 via 2010 Titan, QX56, Armada, and model years 2005 through 2010 Frontier, Pathfinder, and Xterra vehicles. The lower control link assembly had two cylindrical collars for developing the inboard attachment points to the chassis. Because of a faulty welding process, some collars had welds that did not meet strength specifications.

If these collar welds separate, handling of the vehicle will decline and may result in crash. In this recall, around 1873 units participated and all got repaired successfully.

Recall II

On Sep 14th 2010, Nissan recalled 2010 Titan, QX56, Armada, Xterra, Frontier, and Pathfinder vehicles, which were manufactured in the period between 19th Non 2009 and 3rd March 2010. The braking system of these vehicles was faulty due to improper welding of braking parts. So, this vehicle could not be stopped by using sudden braking thus leading to serious car crash. Around 41649 vehicles participated in this recall.

Method to Replace the Wiper Arm

Pop up the plastic cap on the end of the wiper arm with a flat head screwdriver, which is situated at the base of cowl. Release the arm from the wiper motor with a socket and a 3/8-inch ratchet. Hold the arm at the end near the wiper blade. And, pull the wiper blade from the base and drag it away from the wiper motor. Keep the replacement arm onto the wiper arm motor and then bend the arm at the end with the wiper blade to put the arm at a 90-degree angle to the windshield. The wiper arm base should click into place at this point; line up the splines with the motor. Connect the wiper arm to the motor with a socket and 3/8-inch ratchet. Bend the arm back flat onto the windshield.
